Ahhhh... good old FOB Fallujah. Never has a shithole shitholed so hard.

Actually, I have some good memories from there during first deployment. It was a complete shithole but hey, at least the transient tent was right next to an artillery position. It made it super easy sleep when we got stuck there.

Those were my boys. I was comm ops for an artillery regiment that got converted to provisional infantry and an 8th of the unit stayed in arty.

Nice, I will forever remember the first time we stayed there, we had just gotten bedded down and we heard what we thought was a mortar landing right by out tent. We all kind of laid there on our cots waiting to see if there would be more, when we heard the second explosion we realized it was outgoing but, it sounded really close. A buddy and I walked outside right as they shot the third round and we realized we were about 20 meters from the pit. We figured we weren’t going to get any sleep so we went over and cheered them on through that whole fire mission, then we hung out in the pit bullshitting and smoking until for about couple of hours and went back to bed. It was pretty cool, luckily they didn’t get anymore fire missions that night. That was great, no one got in contact and needed their help and we got some sleep.

EDIT: I just remembered it wasn’t called FOB Fallujah it was Camp Fallujah.
